$100,000 paid to Aussie artist for painting 'Kanye Loves Kanye' mural

Melbourne, April 11 (ANI): An Australian artist Scott Marsh was paid 100,000 dollars for painting the famous ' Kanye Loves Kanye' mural.

Reportedly, the artwork was originally a photo taken at the 2015 Grammy Awards of Kanye kissing wife Kim, but it was Photoshopped into a meme of the rapper locking lips with himself, says News.com.au.

Marsh recreated the viral photo into a six metre tall mural painted in a Chippendale lane in Sydney's art-struck region. The artist says he was contacted by someone claiming to be the 38-year-ild rapper's management offering a five figure sum to paint over the mural.

"I asked for six figures and a lifetime supply of Yeezy Boosts," Marsh told.

The artist wrote on his website he would "buff the mural" and "buff a one-off limited edition oversized print" for $100,000.

Marsh added an 11 by 17 inch signed print of the mural would also be available at a more affordable price of $40 for Yeezy fans until April 11.

While he didn't reveal who bought the six-figure edition, Marsh posted a photo on social media confirming the purchase and said: "so this just happened".

"If anyone needs me I'll be at the #lordgladstone drinking from the topshelf ..." he said.

The artist later shared a photo of the process of painting over the Chippendale mural, but said he left Kanye's little pinky in memory of the work.

"Its been real yeezy #kanyeloveskanye #kanyewest #yeezy #kanye #zigis #scottmarsh." News of the mural's sale comes only weeks after Aussie artist Mark Walls painted a rendition of Kanye's wife Kim Kardashian West's nude selfie on the back wall of a Melbourne picture framing business.

The mural caused a stir on the eve of International Women's Day after it was tarnished in the early hours of the morning with the word 'slut' written in white and brown paint.
