Former Nepal president Ram Baran Yadav has emphasized on a stable Constitution for doing away with political complexities.
Participating in a conversation with students of the Baghchaura Higher Secondary School in Dhanusha district today, the former president said that stability should be given to the Constitution by addressing the dissatisfactions of the Madhesis, reports The Himalayan Times.
Expressing belief that the problems could be resolved by means of next Constitution amendment, he said the role of all parties would be vital in resolving the Madhes issues through talks and the democratic process.
In response to a question from the students, Yadav said disparity and discrimination between the Centre and the provinces could be removed if future course of action was prepared as per the federal structure as it would ensure a judicious distribution of revenues.
He also pointed out the need of awareness and initiation in the society to wipe out various ill practices like discrimination between sons and daughters, child marriage, dowry system and unemployment.
The programme was presided over by School Management Committee president Ram Bharos Kapadi.
