U'khand Congress urges MP CM Chouhan to call back Vijaywargiya

The Uttarakhand Congress has written a letter to Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan urging him to call BJP leader Kailash Vijayvargiya, who is camping in the hill state prior to the floor test on Tuesday, to Indore.

"We have written a letter to Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and to the Governor informing them that a person has come from Madhya Pradesh who is trying to malign the political environment of Uttarakhand," said Congress state chief Kishore Upadhyay.

"We have a written a letter to MP CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan to call Kailash Vijayvargiya back to Indore," he added.

Upadhyay said Vijaywargiya has several cases pending against him in Madhya Pradesh.

"We are very thankful to the Supreme Court, which has allowed the floor test, but before that we have urged Shivraj Singh to call him back to Indore. For that, we would be very thankful to him," he added.

Meanwhile, Vijaywargiya lashed out at ousted chief minister Harish Rawat following the expose of a fresh sting video, which allegedly shows Congress MLA Madan Singh admitting to horse-trading.

"Harish Rawat can go to any extent to save his chair, he is buying his own MLAs," he said.

The Congress and BJP have issued whips to their MLAs, instructing them to be present in the Uttarakhand Assembly during the floor test on May 10 and vote in favour of the confidence motion.

Paving the way for ending the political impasse in the hill state, the Supreme Court on Friday ordered a floor test in the Uttarakhand Assembly on May 10.

The apex court, however, refused to allow the nine rebel Congress MLAs to cast their votes, stating that the appeal against their disqualification is pending before the Uttarakhand High Court.
