Mumbai (Maharashtra) Mar.16 (ANI): All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul Muslimeen (AIMIM) law maker Waris Pathan got suspended from Maharashtra Assembly for this session after he refused to chant slogan 'Bharat Mata ki Jai'.
Pathan will not be allowed to attend the entire Budget session.
The Minister of State (Parliamentary Affairs) Ranit Patil moved a proposal for suspension of Pathan after uproar was created in the assembly when BJP's Ram Kadam asked the later to say 'Bharat Mata ki Jai' and he refused to chant the slogan.
This outraged the leaders of other parties also who demanded his immediate suspension.
Against the backdrop of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh ( RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat's suggestion that the new generation needs to be taught to chant slogans hailing mother India,
AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi said that he won't chant slogans of 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai'.
Bhagwat's comments came against the backdrop of the row over alleged anti-India sloganeering on n the Jawaharlal Nehru University ( JNU) campus on February 9.
