Malerkotla Quran sacrilege: AAP disrupting communal harmony, says BJP

 Demanding strict action against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Naresh Yadav for allegedly desecrating the Quran, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday said it exposed the real face of the Arvind Kejriwal-led party which hatches conspiracies and spreads hatred for electoral benefits.

Taking a jibe at Yadav's remark, BJP leader Manoj Tiwari said it is now evident that the AAP leaders would indulge in the same practice for which they are well-known.

"They will disrupt communal harmony and divide the people. This is the real face of the AAP. There should be strict probe against him (Naresh Yadav)," Tiwari told ANI.

Swamy to focus on Ram Temple, Herald, Aircel Maxis cases

BJP MP Subramanian Swamy, whose tweets have not gone down well with the party leadership, today indicated that he will be less active on his favourite media platform for a week to "concentrate" on cases involving Ram Temple, National Herald and Aircel Maxis.

He, however, also made a tweet over India's GDP calculation that raised a few eyebrows.

"If I apply Samuelson-Swamy Theory of Index Numbers to India's GDP calculation or RBI interests rates, media will scream anti party activity!" he said.

A few hours later, he tweeted, "Now Ram Temple, NH, impleading in Swami Dayananda's WP in SC, Aircel Maxis, CSK ban etc requires me to concentrate. So few tweets for 1 week."

He also took a dig at journalists.

BJP backs Irrfan Khan's 'qurbani' remark

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday appeared to be in tune with Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan, who questioned the practice of sacrifice and fasting in Islam, and said the whole idea of 'qurbani and sacrifice' have been defeated in today's time.

Asserting that nobody has the right to tell others what to do, BJP's Shazia Ilmi said too much of commercialization in the matters of religion and faith is taking place in the present times.

"What he is saying provokes you to think harder, if you see as to why this is done. The idea is to give something dear to you. I don't think anybody has the right to check and give advice to others," said Ilmi.

Launching a fresh tidal wave of attack on Arvind Kejriwal, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Subramanian Swamy on Saturday alleged that the Delhi Chief Minister did not get into the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur through competitive exams and did not hold a rank from the university.

"According to the RTI reply on Kejriwal's IIT entrance, it now turns out that Kejriwal did not come through the competitive exams. And you can see from the RTI in the last column that Kejriwal has no rank and that's a clear sign that he came through some other method," Swamy said.

Centre returned bills because Kejriwal refused to follow rules: BJP

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday said the Centre returned the Delhi government's bills because the "high-headed" Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) did not follow the due procedure.

BJP leader Satish Upadhyay told ANI that for the passage of a bill, a due procedure needs to be followed, whereas the Arvind Kejriwal government kept on violating law and disrespecting the Constitution.

Union Minister for Environment Prakash Javadekar on Wednesday slammed Congress president Sonia Gandhi's 'Shahenshah' jibe and said that the grand old party chief, rather than calling names for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, should clear her stand on allegations levelled against her son-in-law Robert Vadra.

Javadekar told ANI "Our Prime Minister is behaving most democratically and to call him Shahenshah is insulting the institution, but beside that the important point is there are some allegations made by the media with some proofs, email trails. BJP leader arrested for alleged molestation on flight

Sardarnagar police here today arrested a Gandhinagar-based BJP leader for allegedly molesting a 13-year-old girl on board a Goa-Ahmedabad flight of IndiGo Airlines on May 29.

Ashok Makwana, the accused, is a labour contractor.

Based on a complaint filed by the girl's parents, police today arrested the 41-year-old Makwana, said inspector V R Patel of Sardarnagar police station.

Batla house: BJP stages protest, accuses Cong of propagating false sentiments

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday staged a protest in front of the Delhi Congress office in the national capital, against the grand old party's statement over the Batla House encounter case.

The BJP leaders denounced the Congress raising flags and placards and accused them of propagating false facts in connection with the Batla House case.

BJP slams UP government over firing on ex-justice's car

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday slammed the Uttar Pradesh (UP) government over the firing incident on retired Justice U.K.Dhawan's car late Friday night.

State spokesman Vijay Bahadur Pathak alleged that the firing incident on such a person that too very close to Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav's residence, had proved that the state was in complete lawlessness.

Rajnath's remarks on Ram temple exposes BJP's 'double face': Congress

Taking a strong exception to Union Minister Rajnath Singh's remarks that the BJP would contest the UP polls on development plank and not on the issue of Ram temple construction, the Congress party on Saturday said Singh's comment exposed the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) "double-face".

"Dubiousness is a habit of the BJP; one leader says something, while the other says something else. In the case of Ram Temple, Subramanian Swamy says the temple will be constructed by coming December. And now, Rajnath Singh says this is a non-issue. It is important to note that both of them are members of the BJP Working Committee, so they expose the double face of the saffron party," Congress leader Pramod Tiwari told ANI.

Modi govt 'decisive', will fulfil all promises by 2019: Shah

Asserting that the Modi government had infused hope across all sectors with its "decisive" rule, BJP President Amit Shah today said it had laid a strong foundation in its two years and will fulfil all its promises before the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.

"In two years it has laid a strong foundation. In next three years a strong building of development will be raised. I am sure when we go the people again for votes in 2019, we would have fulfilled all our promises," he said.

Presenting the government's two-year report card at a press conference here, Shah also pitched the party's "good" performance in the Assembly polls as the people's mandate on rows over Rohith Vemula suicide and JNU issue and took on Congress, saying those who raised them are "nowhere".

The Janata Dal (United) on Friday cornered the Bharatiya Janata Party ( BJP) over the ongoing controversy surrounding the 'self-defence' camp organised by the Bajrang Dal, saying the ruling party at the Centre is following the principle of creating communal tension and dividing secular forces to gain electoral benefits.
