Second accused arrested in Muktsar kidnapping and rape case

The Muktsar Police on Sunday arrested the second accused in connection with the abduction and rape of a Dalit girl, which took place on March 25.

The second accused-Sandeep Sipa is the driver of the main accused Gurinder, alias, Jojo. The police have also seized his car.

Gurinder was arrested yesterday in connection with the case.

Following a complaint, the Malaut Police had on March 30 booked the accused, and was on look out for him, who was allegedly absconding.

Gurinder, 27, a resident of Kandu Khera village, reportedly abducted the victim, a resident of the same village, from outside a computer centre in Malaut, where she was an employee. He took her to Tapa Khera village and allegedly raped her.

The incident of abduction has been captured on CCTV camera installed at the computer centre.

CP rape case: Delhi Police arrests accused from Chandigarh

Chandigarh, April. 2 (ANI): The Delhi Police on Saturday arrested the accused, in connection with the alleged rape of a 33-year-old Delhi-based businesswoman, from Chandigarh.

As per sources, the arrested individual is being brought to Delhi for further investigation.

The police had earlier said that the accused was known to the victim as she claimed to have met him a few times in Chandigarh.

According to the police, the incident came to light when the woman, who resides in South Delhi's Defence Colony area and owns a business enterprise, called up the police to report the matter.

"She met the accused on Friday over lunch to discuss business matters. She said that the man, who is a businessman from Chandigarh, spiked her drink with sedatives and took her to a room in the hotel in the inner circle of Connaught Place, where he forced himself upon her," said a senior police official.

Police have registered a case under Section 376 (for rape) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). They said that the incident is being verified and constant efforts to track the man are being made.
